Record Run Update

On an otherwise gloomy day in Austin, hundreds of participants came out to the 2015 Record Run to promote health and cancer support. Starting before sunrise, volunteers unboxed thousands of pennies to spread across a Texas-shaped silhouette on the field at Camp Mabry, and runners began trickling in an hour before the race was set to start and helped themselves to bagels, hot coffee, and other goods provided by the donations from our generous sponsors. Before the race, participants were encouraged to take pictures with the record-breaking penny collection; the Record Run began at 9 AM and ran smoothly until the last runner strode across the finish line. The Raise4aCause team is immensely proud of the Austin community for coming in solidarity to show a pronouncement of community activism. The Record Run was able to garner a profit of over $6,000, one hundred percent of which will be donated to the Livestrong at the Y and Livestrong Cancer Institutes of the Dell Medical School programs in Livestrong in late August.

In addition, as the new school year kicks off, Raise4aCause is looking for passionate individuals who are interested in joining our team. We are working hard to continue the growth of our non-profit and are all super excited to see what the future has in store for us! We are currently in the works for a new event in the spring of 2016. Stay tuned!
